  • 3 tbsp 3 tbsp erythritol (optional)
  • 2 tsp 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp ¼ tsp almond extract

Instructions

Instructions are for 8 servings. Please modify as needed.

  1. Mix together cream cheese, vanilla extract, almond extract and sweetener, if you're using any. Mix until light and fluffy. Whip the heavy cream in a separate bowl until soft peaks form and gently combine with the cream cheese.
  2. Pour one third of the cream cheese mixture in a glass bowl. Cover with a layer of sliced strawberries. Add one more cream cheese layer, and cover with a layer of blueberries.
  3. Cover with the rest of the cream cheese mixture and decorate the top with sliced berries arranged to look like an American flag. Serve immediately.

Tip!

Yes, you can switch up the berries! Raspberries can sub in for strawberries. Blackberries can stand in for blueberries (and are lower carb, too). Go with you favorite flavors, or whatever is available in your market,

Hi, I'm a paying member and I'm not American. I support your site because it's been a complete revelation and has helped me to revert my DT2 in two months time.
I really follow your site daily and have found a lot of very informative content. It seems to me that the information is being directed to everyone, but I really do not appreciate those signs of American chauvinism in between the lines. I find it even repulsive…

Try please to maintain an open view about the information and the public that is using the site.

Thank you very much for your efforts!!!

    American chauvinism Sergio?

Just arrange the strawberries and blueberries into a different pattern and call it the flag of the Netherlands

This looks amazing, and I have everything on hand, yay!

Sergio, July 4th is a holiday celebrated only in the US, re its independence from Britain. It's not a political statement from Diet Doctor. Are you also offended by Canada Day? German Unity Day? Cinco de Mayo? No? Then I promise you will get over this greivous insult. FYI, we Americans are not all gun-toting racists, I promise!

Please find a hobby or other way to entertain yourself besides being offended by berries and/or holidays celebrated in other countries. Your health with be better for it. :)

I might have to do this for a Friday evening desert. It looks so good, but will do without the sweetener.

Among our recipes you will also find ones from France, Sweden, India, Thailand, Japan, Hungary and Mexico to name a few. If you have a great Dutch recipe to share with us, we would be happy and honored to make it and publish it here on our site.

I just made this but I put the "flag" on whipped cream atop a LCHF cheesecake to celebrate the 4th of July birthday of a girlfriend. It turned out great and so simple. Thanks for the inspiration.

I too am paying for this from England and a bit fed up of the site geared to America. I can cope with American English but not millilitres of berries when solids are in crammed and kilos. Also what do.tou mean by a tablespoon? Why can't you just give the weight or volume. A tablespoon itself varies from country to country. And I doubt if it is what we call a tablespoon but rather a desertspoon? If you can cope with proper metric tgen put it in pounds and ounces as you use in America. Every set of scales I know has noth. American flag? Don't give a monkies! Certainly in Britain we have the same colours in a different pattern but what fruit indeed would you use for Ireland or Holland?

A bowl that is approximately 2 quarts should work well.

Good gravy, people, it’s a CAKE for a National US HOLIDAY. It’s not a mandatory recipe! Make it or don’t.
I love my country, the USA. No crime there.
I bet you love your country, too. You should.
Let’s all just love each other. After all, we ALL share the same planet! 🤗💖

Don't like the revised nutrition info - I use total calories, not net, and without the fiber info I can't do the quick calculation to get total carbs. Sure, I can input the entire recipe into Cronometer, but I really shouldn't have to.

That should be "total carbs, not net".

We always display the total carbs as well as net carbs. Please click on the colored carb circle or the word Nutrition under the list of ingredients. The total carbs are listed under the carb circle in the pop up.

I know this says to serve immediately, why would this not chill and then serve ? Looking to make a low carb dessert and serve after dinner and this sounds delish!

You could certainly chill it before serving, however it may be a bit thicker.
