93 pounds lighter on one-year low-carb anniversary

By combining a low-carb diet with intermittent fasting, Stefan has lost 93 lbs (42 kg) in only one year. Congratulations!

Here he shares his insights from his transformational one-year journey:

Hello Amanda!

One year ago I decided to get on the low-carb wagon. A friend of mine had already done it after being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I was able to follow his journey as a bystander and watched how the weight fell off of him.

One year ago I decided to make the same journey. I had “tried everything” except for this and now I decided that I really wanted to spend a whole year with this dietary change.

I lost weight already in the first few months. At the same time I devoured all the information I could get my hands on at Diet Doctor. Everything about weight loss, why people gain weight, how fasting works and why we’re eating the wrong way today. Why we started eating sugar and low-fat products and why we ended up being so scared of fat.

I felt fresher and renewed already in the first few months. But it wasn’t until I had lost the first 9 kg (20 lbs) that I realized I wasn’t just losing ‘water weight’ but was losing weight for real.

After 6 months I had lost 30 kg (66 lbs).
After 9 months I had lost 40 kg (88 lbs) in total.
After 12 months I’m weight stable and weigh around 88 kg (194 lbs) which means that I’ve lost 42 kg (93 lbs) from my highest weight.

My life is completely transformed, thanks to a couple of occurrences which enabled me to make the decision to go all in, and thanks to all of the information which taught me new things about the body, how our diet affects it and which gave me the strength to resist temptation.
