Tips

This is a great salad to enjoy with your favorite protein, or packed into a low carb tortilla for a portable lunch.

The herb quantities are guidelines, so go with what you have on hand or stick to your favorites. The herb that we think makes this so special, is tarragon. But if you don't care for it, feel free to leave it out.

Other high protein add-ins that would be great in this salad are chicken, turkey, bacon, chickpeas, black beans, feta, or mozzarella.

Why you'll love this chopped salad with green goddess dressing

A great chopped salad is all about contrast—crisp lettuce, crunchy vegetables, creamy dressing, and plenty of protein to keep you satisfied. This version combines fresh herbs, tangy Greek yogurt, and lemon to create a lighter take on classic green goddess dressing that's every bit as creamy and flavorful as the original.

Hard-boiled eggs make this salad a filling meal rather than just a side dish, while sunflower seeds add a delicious crunch and healthy fats. The dressing is incredibly versatile, too. Use it as a dip for fresh vegetables, drizzle it over grilled chicken or fish, or spread it on low-carb wraps and sandwiches for an instant burst of fresh flavor.

One of the best things about this recipe is how easy it is to customize. Add grilled chicken, turkey, shrimp, salmon, or tofu for even more protein, or toss in avocado, feta cheese, cucumbers, or extra herbs depending on what's in season. It's an ideal recipe for meal prep since the dressing can be made several days ahead and stored in the refrigerator until you're ready to assemble the salad.
