I absolutely love your site and am learning SO much about what works, why it works, what is healthy and in the process UN-LEARNING so much bad information over so many years.
We need to take responsibility for our own health back from the people we have trusted far too long and who have not given us the information we need. You have done that in an easily-understood fashion.
I hope you never get tired of hearing this but at 67 years, I had honestly all but given up on ever losing the extra pounds that were making me feel poorly, sleep poorly, snore and struggle with low energy.
I play singles tennis as much as possible with my older, healthier husband, we walk/hike often and I swim. I have tried many diet plans and nothing seemed to help me lose weight until I found your site.
I no longer snore, which was pretty awful and I don’t feel the need to nap during the day – the midday crash where I could hardly keep my eyes open has disappeared.
I can actually now look at recipes online and prepare meals without feeling hungry. I love to cook and research recipes, so this process has been exciting for me.
Plus I began October 22 and as of today I have lost 18 lbs. – more than on Weight Watchers which was the only time I lost and that all came back. I am sad to see Oprah jumping on that bandwagon.
I have never felt better and for the first time in recent memory I am NOT HUNGRY EVERY MINUTE OF THE DAY. I honestly thought something was very wrong with me. I used to wake up hungry, go to bed hungry and was hungry – except for a short while after eating – for all the times in between. This is wonderful and it feels so good. I keep asking myself, “Am I hungry”? And the answer is most often “No”. This is shocking to me.
I am also doing the intermittent fasting to the dismay of many friends – I simply refer them to Dr. Jason Fung and tell them that, YES, he is a real specialist physician. It is sad that often we discount information that we receive from people other than the ‘traditionally educated’. This is very narrow-minded in my view.
I never thought I could do this. I still have a long way to go, but I can live eating this way happily forever.
