Why did my cholesterol number go very high when I took bile salts, niacin and choline (500mgs each) seven days prior to my lab work. I'm not taking any statin drugs now. I stopped them six months before my lab work because I was having too many side effects from that drug. However, my doctor wanted me to go back on twice the dose of statin plus an extra statin drug with it. I refused to do so. Just need to know why my numbers went so high on the supplements that I mentioned above.
