Vern had been overweight for most of her life, but it was when she was given a diabetes scare that she started to investigate lifestyles.
Here’s what happened when she found what worked:
I have been very privileged to have the help from your site and others that have enabled me to lose the 32 kg (70 lbs) that dogged me for 35 years!
After being given a diabetes scare I investigated lifestyles and LCHF was the lifestyle that stood out for me. I went into the lifestyle full on, had no problems sticking to it, did not have cravings, and the weight fell off. I was asked questions such as “AM I SURE I AM HEALTHY” to “DO YOU HAVE HIV” and a lot of people thought I was anorexic. I definitely was not, I was eating a lot but I was eating the correct foods that my body craved.
One year later I went for a full medical with a cardiologist and totally contrary to before I now had great cholesterol levels, a HbA1C of 4.1%, low blood pressure and the list goes on. I have maintained my weight now for 3 years and in fact don’t need to weigh myself anymore as I am a constant 60–62 kg (132–136 lbs). I am 56 years old, never did any exercise whilst losing weight, never stopped drinking dry white wine and now LOVE LIFE! I have included pics of before and after, feel free to use them. Thank you for all the good research, recipes, blogs and unfailing support that you give us in our quest for a healthier life.
