This is a great question. If you don’t want to stay on a keto diet long term, but also don’t want to undo all the benefits you’ve gotten, what do you do?

In general, I advise people to gradually add a few more carbs at a time and keep in mind carb quality matters!

As an example, if you were eating 20 grams of carbs per day and want to increase that, it may be best to start with 50 grams per day instead of going back to 150 grams or more.

You may want to get most of your carbs from vegetables, some fruits, and some legumes, while still avoiding grains and sugars.

Although this exact example may not be right for you, hopefully, it shows a good way to approach the question in general.
