It’s NOT Just Alcohol! Why Toast and Potatoes May Also Cause Liver Damage

Bad for the liver?

A low-carb diet does not just cause cosmetic weight loss. It can also effectively burn internal fat, where you can’t see it. In your liver for example.

A new study evaluated a low-carb diet in people with signs of fatty liver disease (very common) with excellent results:

Several earlier studies have showed similar results [1 2]. Perhaps a low-carb diet should be the standard treatment for fatty liver disease, just as with obesity and type 2 diabetes?

David Unwin is doing great work with diabetics in the UK - AND saving a lot of MONEY using low carb rather than drugs. I expect dieticians to take out a hit on him, along with Aseem Malhotra and Rangan Chatterjee, right after they have finished with Tim Noakes and Jennifer Elliott.
It's becoming a battle between science that works and dogma that doesn't. Sweden should be Exhibit A in any forthcoming trials.

While I'm all for championing LCHF, I'm a bit hesitant regarding this specific piece of information. Lumping bread and potatoes together as if they're the exact same thing is kind of misleading. I'd imagine that's why they used the word "may" when lumping these together, but still, its misleading.

I was diagnosed with fatty liver in 2012 (84kg, 173cm hight). After discovering this site and following lchf diet I have lost 12kg in 3 months. After that I made again abdomen ultrasonography and it showed no signs of fatty liver at all. So from my experience I feel it helps alot^^

Are there any studies about people who drink alcohol and eat LCHF?
Somehow, I think the alcohol has taken the blame for the high carb, Low fat diet when it had nothing to do with it.

    Elizabeth,
When i was diagnosed with fatty liver I was drinking 2-4 beers daily. After swiching diet to LCHF i cured my liver despite still drinking alcohol in that amount. So you might be right.
