Police officer losing weight and sugar addiction with LCHF

Before and after
I received an e-mail from police officer Maykel in Florida, who struggled with weight and sugar addiction. Here’s his story about what happened when he found LCHF:
The Email
I’d like to thank you for your advice and guidance. My name is Maykel Leyva and I am 34 yrs old. I live in Miami, Florida. I’m a police officer and have always had trouble losing weight and remaining lean.
I was having sugar cravings one night and ran across a youtube video where you were giving a speech. Everything you said and have on your website I followed. I’d like to share with you my progress, thanks to you.
I would have huge sweet cravings, and diabetes is very prevalent in my family as well.
Thank you again!
Maykel

Great job. Keep it up.
(in studies using animals, to describe changes in a biochemical pathway often 6 animals per study group is enough, 10 is plenty).
I presume your are statistician (although no one should presume anything)
ps. I read Gary Taubes "why we get fat and what to do about it" ... it changed the whole game plan...
Besides, how long on a LCHF diet is long enough to tell it doesn't work on you?
BUT I always had an 'upset tummy' &assoiated complications! I did eat TONNES of fruit........ I was really shocked when I realised my 3-7 pieces of fruit a day wasn't as healthy as I thought!! I never ate sweets or anything but was addicted to fruit! Anyway now I'm lucky if I have a few berries /strawberries or kiwi a week ( no wonder my gut was such a mess!!) gut etc now fantastic!
I am very low carb probably around 10gm a day - I love butter & healthy fats that's over 150gm a day and eat tonnes of eggs' a lot more organic meat along with my fish and always ate tonnes of veges
Another reason I went LCHF is because I had a very nasty foot injury in July last year a 'debilitating life changing ' injury (the surgeon said that not me!!!) I wanted to get my body as healthy as I could to help the healing process bone & joint health - so the only inflammation is my foot..... It's a very long & frustrating road to recovery as I was a very active 53 year old!!! So I am always in pain with my foot which doesn't help my feeling of 'wellness' but things are slowly getting better and even though I haven't shifted the 3 kilos I put on after the injury ( I was immobilised and being fed raisin toast for breakfast!!!! - with marg!!!) since I started LCHF I HAVENT gained any more! So I think as I start to recover more and can be more active the bit of weight will drop off!and I'm eating tonnes more 'calories' in fat but not getting 'fatter' .
I am very pleased with the results and I'm sure by December (my target) -17 months after my injury I will be a lot more active and back to my normal weight and hopefully out of pain and feeling incredible!!
