‘FAT: a documentary’ is released today
Vinnie Tortorich’s eagerly-awaited Fat: a documentary is being released today.
Last fall we shared the trailer of the film with a brief discussion of the anti-fat bias inherent in many nutrition documentaries today.
The film will take a look at the mistaken war on fat; how low-fat recommendations by health organizations may have contributed to the global epidemics of diabetes and obesity; and how we can improve our own health by following a real-food diet that includes natural fats.
There are several options for viewing Fat: a documentary:
If you want to help the movie be seen by more people, you can also leave a review after you’ve watched it.

I am not sure what they are planning to do with the purchase options in the future.
I am not sure that it will be available on Diet Doctor, but it may be at some point down the road.
That was completely unnecessary to show! What if kids were watching that?!!
Two days ago I watched 'FAT: A DOCUMENTARY' by Vinnie Tortorich via Amazon Prime.
I must say it is perfect! It is the complete package for explaining how our dietary guidelines came to be in the last 50 years or so. It summarises succinctly the complex and arguably corrupt way in which Western world has evolved to become fatter and sicker. The style of presentation is very matter-of-fact, very clear and to the point.
The presenters or all well-known and highly regarded within the LCHF sphere and are experts.
One remark in particular, keeps coming back to me and that is the point made by Nina Teicholz, and that is the question as to why health professionals cannot be open to new ideas, even if it comes from patients and/or other professionals/journalists.
I feel that the film complements in a major way all the efforts that Nina Teicholz went to and so meticulously documented in her book, 'THE BIG FAT SURPRISE'.
I recommend this documentary to everyone including medical students and doctors. You will be surprised and learn something.
It is the perfect jumping-off point for any health professional to start along the path of low carbohydrate healthy fat eating & patient management.
The whole concept of LCHF has certainly changed me, if not completely physically, certainly in terms of my way of thinking about health and medicine.
Everyone in the UK should have access to this film. If you value your health you need to take back control for yourself and learn the truth from superb documentaries like this one. Because you have been part of an almighty nutritional experiment for the last 50 years, with no sound research basis, and we have paid the price.

Unfortunately most health professionals are worried about being castigated if they go against the grain cf. Gary Fettke. Secretly many are interested in and advising on the QT about LCHF. They just need the powers-that-be to catch up before they come out fully.
55 yr old woman here. I remember the food pyramid in school .. been thru the LDL crisis, etc. I'm appalled that I have been lead astray. I suffered 8+ yrs with chronic pain and I would bet top $$ it's because of my diet. I wish there was a study I could participate in for results. I'm on pain medication, every day. I would like to get off of it but am afraid my symptoms will come back. I was bed ridden for 3 yrs. Depression was at full max. With the medication (1 only, every a.m.), it has made my pain tolerable and I was able to be a fully functioning adult but I do not like being dependent on the medication. Where would I even start to look for a program for research?
