Here are new amazing stories from the people who’ve taken the challenge:
I am really enjoying this way of eating and taking part in the challenge has helped to provide interesting recipes to use going forward.
I have not lost a huge amount of weight (only 4 lbs – 2 kg) but I feel so much better. I have arthritis and the improvement in both pain levels and mobility is astonishing. I also feel less bloated and more alert. I have a long term problem with heart burn and unfortunately on the challenge on some days it was really bad. I am trying to work out what exactly is causing it by elimination. I must admit that the weight loss is a little disappointing but the other benefits make it more than worthwhile to continue with this lifestyle. I have already signed up to Dietdoctor.com to continue. Thank you very much for all your information and help.
Several points to make.
Firstly, I was really surprised by how easy and straightforward the programme was to follow.
Secondly, my husband found it very easy to share the meals and enjoyed them too. He added extra rice on a couple of occasions but mostly has been enjoying the same meals, and that makes life very much simpler. Nobody wants to be faffing about cooking two separate meals.Thirdly, I’ve been delighted with the weight loss and in fact have felt extremely well during the diet – no problems with any side effects. My skin is glowing and I’ve got plenty of energy – none of that sleepy feeling after meals.
I’m looking forward to continuing with this programme and am feeling very happy and optimistic about it.
Very best wishes,
I didn’t manage to do it as we wanted to eat what was in the house first so as to not waste food (don’t worry! 90% of our meals are whole foods and consist of lots of fresh veg) so have rather started it this Monday instead.
Very excited. I think it looks easy to follow. My only feedback is that if soups are allowed on the 2-week challenge (other than the bouillon) perhaps it should be mentioned that they can be added. It’s late autumn here in South Africa so soups are a welcomed addition.
I absolutely love that a weekly shopping list is available and every morning I get an email reminding me what today’s menu is. I’ll give more feedback once I’ve completed the challenge but that’s what I have so far!
Many thanks and kind regards,
I did the challenge almost completely, but at the end I was not able to manage my stress (final stage of PhD thesis) and binged on sweets and chocolate. However, in a month or so, I am planning to try it again, as my thesis will be deposited by then.
I must say that the first week I noticed water retention loss (that has come back by the way) and also the second week felt less hunger. I had no keto flu, although at the beginning I might have felt a little brain fog.
Anyhow, I am coming back soon to keto living, even when in my country (Spain) it is rather challenging as we tend to hang outside a lot.Thank you for the information and the recipes!!! I loved most of the ones I tried and discovered cabbage! Hahaha
I have lost about 8 lbs (4 kg) and now seem to have reached a plateau over the last two days. I’ve not felt hungry in fact I have missed a couple of meals or a breakfast and I don’t know if this is the thing to do or not. Too many eggs seem to give me a headache so I’ve been drinking a lot of plain water. I like the diet and now that I am on my own the recipes are making me cook for myself.
I hope to continue as I have another 70 lbs (32 kg) to get me near my goal weight. The loss so far is good since I am 73 and can’t exercise or walk very much with bad back and knee problems which I am hoping will improve with weight loss. Your emails are helpful and a good reminder to set the day off.
Lowered my blood pressure so I could pass a physical. Lost 10 pounds (5 kg). Thanks!!!
Hi Andreas,I did complete the 2-week challenge and I have started the 3rd week. I was very pleased with my results. I am a type 2 diabetic on insulin. Since starting your diet I am only taking insulin once in a while (from 3 times daily). I lost 5 pounds (2 kg) and 1.5 inches (4 cm) from my waist.
I am enjoying the meal plans but I am not able to use all the fat. I would like to know if you can switch the dinner meal around within the same week. Please let me know.
I didn’t lose any weight and it made me sad. I thought this time I would finally find something. I finally cheated on Saturday night but got back on Sunday.
While doing the program I drank some vodka on the rocks but always stayed under 20 carbs. Maybe I ate too much… I’m trying again as of yesterday. No idea what went wrong.
First, I would like to say a special thank you for the opportunity to try the program for free for 2 weeks.
My first week on the challenge was very successful. I lost a total 5 lbs (2 kg) and was never hungry. The food was so delicious, filling and easy to prepare that I shared the program with several friends.
I don’t eat pork so I substituted some of it for chicken or beef.
Week 2 was a little more of a challenge due to having several social engagements.
My plan is to redo the 2-week challenge with a friend for added support!
I thought the low-carb challenge was awesome! I was (and still am) enjoying the delicious food, reveling in the weight loss, excited about the lack of cravings and hunger, and thrilled to feel good and sleep well! Honestly, the easiest diet/way of eating I’ve ever done!
Thanks Diet Doctor!
Dear Dr. Eenfeldt,
I came upon the Diet Doctor site by chance and I am grateful that I did. I had been trying to eat a lower-carb diet on my own after a winter of indulgence, but finding your site helped me understand the chemical nature of weight loss and the strategy of low-carb eating.
After having a successful first week of the challenge, I told my husband that he should try it to combat his ever-increasingly waistline. To my suprise, he did the second week of the challenge with me and was able to lose both 7 pounds (3 kg) and an inch (3 cm) off his waist. I lost 5 pounds (2 kg) and an inch (3 cm) in the two weeks, which is an excellent way to begin the spring.
The negative experiences I had, included an increasing resistance to eggs for breakfast and a number of experiences of hot flashes and heart palpitations during the night. I did feel that Dr. Fung was dismissive of another woman who commented on this experience and, unfortunately, never addressed the reality of her symptoms.
Thanks for a good introduction to a low-carb lifestyle,
I am enjoying the low-carb challenge. It was difficult but not impossible and I have to say that I am enjoying the recipes. I am a pretty good cook so finding a diet plan with delicious food is a challenge.
I only lost 2 pounds (1 kg) but will be continuing the low-carb meals. I also am going to do fasting every other day to see if that helps too. I started at 136 lbs (62 kg) so I do know that losing a smaller amount of weight can take a bit longer.
Also I am looking to make permanent changes and not drop 4 pounds (2 kg) in a week to gain it back which I feel this doing this plan will do for me.
Try it yourself
