Back to School Without the Sugar

Back to school without the sugar

This time of year there’s a lot of inspiration for after school snacks and for items to put in the children’s lunch boxes. Unfortunately, often the suggested recipes are full of sugar and low in nutrients. Even the ones that sound really healthy, like granola bars, usually contain tons of sugar.

That’s not what kids need to grow, learn, play and sleep well. They need food, real food. Being a parent isn’t always easy and we all do the best we can for our children. For some added simplicity and inspiration here’s our best back to school ideas, without the added sugar.

The recipes below can be made in advance and kept in the refrigerator for easy access when your children get home from school. They provide good nutrients and will keep them satiated until dinner time.
