Cutting calories for weight loss is bound to fail for the vast majority of people, because of increased hunger and slower metabolism.
So what should you do instead? Here is an effective strategy in three steps from Harvard professor David Ludwig:
- Quit processed carbs and replace them with whole fruits, vegetables, legumes and modest amounts of whole-kernel grains.
- Eat moderate amounts of protein.
- Fill up on satisfying fats such as nuts, olive oil and full-fat dairy.
