Made this tonight and added some chopped fresh mint leaves to the cucumber sauce. Lovely - just like tzaziki.

A good recipe, thank you. I skinned the salmon first. I used a bag of crispy salad and some pecans for speed. I roasted new potatoes for other diner who does not do LCHF. Green beans, mange tout and broccoli as well. The cucumber sauce was a great accompaniment.

Excellent recipe, I loved it and I'm not a huge fan of salmon (although I'm now trying to eat more of it). I could happily eat this recipe every week! A few changes I made were: Since I just bought a Joule Sous Vide device (it's wonderful!!), so I prepped the salmon per the recipe with the coconut oil and tandoori spice, and instead of baking it in the oven I cooked it sous vide—turned out perfect, and I highly recommend this cooking method. For the sauce, I used a cup of sour cream and also added 2T mayo to it, 2 garlic cloves although I think next time I might put 3, a lot of grated cucumber, and the juice of the whole lime. (Note: it's really important to "squeeze" out water from the cucumber....I put the shredded cucumber on a double paper towel with two more on top and pressed the water out that way. The photo looked like there was a bit of lime zest on top of the sauce, so I did that too. This recipe is a winner and everyone loved it.

I cooked this for some friends from overseas staying with us. They raved and raved about it. I made a couple of changes though: I used yoghurt instead of sour cream as that was what I had, making it more like raita. I also wasn't able to buy rocket/arugula nearby so I tossed some broccolini in garlic, butter-fried some asparagus and baked some potatoes in the oven for the others. It was an absolute hit. I'll definitely be making this again. Thank you for a great recipe!

Any substitution is going to change the macros of the meal. Feel free to choose another meal if one with salmon doesn't suit your preferences.

Hi there, here in NZ fresh salmon is VERY expensive ($35 a kilo). Can we substitute this for canned salmon in spring water and then drain and add our own olive oil? Any suggestions welcome..

Unfortunately, if the canned salmon is not in large pieces, that will probably not work. The salmon called for in this recipe is salmon steaks. However, we do have salmon burgers that you may like!

And zucchini salmon fritters (and a few others).

This was ridiculously delicious! First recipe I’ve made for the 2 week challenge and I’m already impressed. I could eat the sauce on its own, used full fat Fage Greek yogurt and it was fantastic. One of the things I will miss this 2 weeks is my yogurt, but having it savory style was really tasty. I did feel the fish needed salt, but cooked as directed and broiled for a few minutes at the end to get it a little crispy. My husband who doesn’t like much salt thought it was perfect without. He told me this was definitely a keeper. I didn’t tell him until after dinner that this was a keto meal. 5 stars!!!

These recipes are written to give specific flavor profiles. You are always free to substitute but you will be changing texture, flavor and macro ratios.

You may wish to find a different recipe as those are critical ingredients in this dish.

Omg this recipe is AMAZING!! Every bite I take is so savory. Didn’t make any changes to it. Was worried how the mayo would taste and thought maybe should have used sour cream instead, but no mayo worked great; taste like Tzatziki. Thank goodness for a program thing called Keto! Thanks Dietdoctor for the recipe.

Don't forget to subtract out the digestible fiber. If you click the Nutrition + tab under the list of ingredients, you can see the fiber we subtracted to get the net carbs.

Did not particularly care for this one. The cucumber sauce was excellent however.

I wish these recipes had serving sizes. We started off with the chicken alfredo yesterday and it seems like a humongous amount of food.

If you get full, there is no need to force a full serving. Eating to hunger is a good keto practice.

This was my first dish I made from Diet Doctor, it was excellent! Very nice textures and overall taste, and quite filling as well. If all of the dishes taste like this one then I will be very happy!!! Thanks!!!

On my phone the recipe on the website shows adjustable servings settings. Changing the servings changes the quantities in the recipe.

I'm not a huge fan of cucumbers, but the paired with the seasonings and salmon, the cucumber works.

Loved the salad and cucumber sauce. Not a huge fan of tandoori. Takes some getting used to. I will try sprinkling it next time instead of coating the fish with it. I know it’s considered a rub, but it’s a bit strong for me.

Excellent - one of my picks so far

I thought the amount of food required was huge until I noticed the guide at the top that lets you choose how many portions you are making. Have to say amount seem spot on.

This is another absolutely delicious dish. Keep them coming. I ate with asparagus and cut baby peppers to go with. I didn't use as much mayo for the cucumber sauce and I still had leftovers for the next day. I even made my own spice. The only tip I have is to broil the fish at the end to get a nice crust on top with the spice.

You could just omit the cucumber from the sauce.

This looks great except for the avocado -- not a fan. Can I substitute something else to keep the right balance? Or just omit it? It's just my first day and going grreat, but looking at all the use of avocados in the recipes I'm not sure how to do it. Thanks for any advice.

Yes, you can substitute something else. The avocado is here because it's a good source of healthy fats.

I used garam masala instead of tandoori (i didn't had that one in my spice box). Is it ok? I read the carbs on it and it didn't seem much. 38g of carbs per 100g of spice and i used 2 tbsp.

This was a super delicious recipe! For 3 servings I DIYed a tandoori mix using 12 tsp of each: cumin, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, turmeric, and culantro/annato (Sazon packet). Came out really flavorful. I also thought the mayo would be weird but you just have to trust the system lol. Came out super delicious though I did cut back a lot (baby steps into increasing fat, baby steps...).

As a gentle suggestion though, site mods can you please update the fractions of veggies to actual ounces or grams? 3/4 of a bell pepper and 2/5 of a cucumber were really unhelpful. Besides that this recipe is a keeper.

Thank you for the comment. The odd fractions there come from scaling the recipe do a different number of servings than it was originally written for.

If I were to use either chicken or pork instead of the salmon, how much would that alter the net carbs for the meal?

Salmon, chicken and pork all have 0g carbs (well, a trace) so it won't affect the carb count of the meal.
