I am glad that you are interested in feedback on the program so far. I have been telling everyone on Facebook so you might as well be in on it.
My husband and I decided to give the program a go for health reasons as well as weight loss. We are in our 60’s and about 10 pounds (5 kg) overweight. I am borderline diabetic and I have digestive issues. Since we started the program I have lost 6 pounds (3 kg) and my husband has lost 5 lbs (2 kg). My husband insists he has a lot more energy and he is sleeping better. He is often afflicted with depression and for some reason he is very upbeat and doesn’t suffer the mood swings. For me, I am experiencing almost no bloating or gas related to my digestive issues. I am now considering weaning myself off Omeprazole after 20 years. This is the biggest health breakthrough for me in years. The weight loss is just an added bonus
We love the food and since I love to cook I have tried many of the recipes besides the ones on the two-week challenge. My husband says he doesn’t even miss the carbs. Neither do I. We’ve become believers:-) We were introduced to your website by a friend that has lost seventy pounds (32 kg) over this past year.

I thought it was great and so were the recipes. I’ve lost 16.8 lbs (8 kg) and I feel great and no longer have the feeling of being bloated. My smaller clothes now fit and I have noticed a difference in my skin as well as the bags under my eyes are gone! I am going to continue with this lifestyle as I am also doing a weight-loss challenge and am still in 1st place. It ends in three weeks!

Sorry this is so long. I discovered your website as it was referenced in ‘The Ketogenic Diet’ by Kristen Mancinelli. I am so glad that I did!
I thought the two-week challenge was great! It was not difficult to follow and in the 14 days or so, I lost 7 lbs (3 kg). My goal is to lose 30 lbs (14 kg) in three months and if I keep at it, I just may achieve that.
My daughter is a physician and I am 64 and was unable to lose weight so she urged me to try the LCHF diet. The recipes were easy to follow, although I did mix them up a bit according to whether my family wanted chicken or pork chops that day. It was less of a challenge than I thought it would be to follow the diet while my husband and son did not. I just cooked them potatoes, pasta or rice to go with the meal, while I had sautéed cabbage or mashed cauliflower. Our two favorite dishes were the meat patties with tomato sauce and the jerk chicken drumsticks.
I am, however, finding it difficult to eat the fat on meats. I have never liked that kind of fat and so am adding olive oil, coconut oil, etc. to everything I can think of. The one thing I miss are fruits. I am hoping that once I achieve my goal weight and I am on maintenance, I will be able to experiment and see if some fruits can be some of the carbs I have. I have not missed potatoes, bread, pasta or rice at all! Including my homemade baking, which I am still making for the family.
I found the ketostix very helpful in keeping me motivated. They were turning color by day 4 and except for one meal in a restaurant, which threw things out of whack for a day or so due likely to hidden sugars, that the ketostix constantly revealed ketosis kept me going to the next day and the next..
I am not sure if you replied to the question I posted regarding lattes. I note you have said that you are a coffee addict too. Rather than a latte, what I am now doing is having a double Americano with a small dollop of heavy cream (a tablespoon). The cream just kind of takes the edge off the espresso.
While I have sometimes brought the leftovers to work for lunch, another good lunch is a tin of tuna, packed in olive oil. I slice up some cucumbers with it, have a slice of hard cheese or a handful of walnuts/brazil nuts and I am not hungry for hours.The best advice I found was that I can eat as much as I want at a meal (when I am hungry) provided it is LCHF and provided I stop eating when I am full. I am actually capable of stopping eating when I am full, knowing I can eat again when I need to. My need to ‘graze’ with snacks in the evening is somehow gone.
I intend to keep this up, trying to keep as close to 20 grams of carbs per day until I achieve my goal and then see how many carbs I can add in.

Thank you for your wonderful website, your recipes have taught me a lot about how much fat I really should eat. The getting started week 1 and 2 menus were seriously awesome, my family enjoyed the rich delicious tastes. I have lost 6 pounds (3 kg) and gained many family favorite recipes.
I enjoy the movies you make available. It’s nice that they are all in one place. The courses are also appreciated. The addiction series was eye opening and I am now convinced to not play at this low carb way of eating anymore, as I had been doing for the last 3 years. Dr. Fung’s series on intermittent fasting has turned me into a believer; that was the key that unlocked my difficulty of losing even though eating low carb.
I have a question: In the beautiful watermelon birthday “cake” you served for your daughter’s birthday, how much whipping cream was used? I plan to serve this at my birthday. (Diet Doctor answer: depends on the size of the melon, but about 2 cups or 500 ml).

This is the first time in my adult life that Ive seen results like this and not felt deprived of freedom or happiness. I’ve lost 10 lbs (4.5 kg) in two weeks and believe that I can continue long term. This is because my family likes the food too. It also creates a true support system when everyone likes to eat the food. I don’t feel so isolated following this program.
Suggested improvements: it would be so cool to build your own weekly menu, create a grocery list from that and have carbs by meal and/or day listed.

I love the 2-week challenge. My doctor told me about it and I’m so glad she did. I have been on a healthy journey for months and for the first time ever I’m succeeding! I lost 7 pounds (3 kg) and several inches in my first 2 weeks. I feel so much better but best of all I’m not hungry all the time.

I absolutely loved every second of the challenge. I cannot believe the results! I lost one size, 17.5 pounds (8 kg) and almost 3 inches (8 cm) in two weeks!!! I signed up after the first week because of the results and how much better I feel! The food is delicious and easy to make and every morning is like Christmas! I love the morning email and the changes every morning in the mirror! The only disappointment I have is that I did not find DietDoctor.com sooner! I cannot wait to see where I am in August!

I think it was fantastic! The recipes were easy to follow and delicious and I appreciated the shopping list! In fact, after the first week I went ahead and signed up for more! Also, the seminars on reversing diabetes were extremely helpful. And “5 mistakes” was also good. Thanks for providing this resource for those of us who are carbohydrate and sugar free.
Well, considering that I lost 10 lbs (5 kg). I think that the challenge was great! However, I do have type 2 diabetes. I was diagnosed in 2014. Already, off bydureon injections. Was taking 1 per week. My doctor recommended I not take them anymore.
Blood sugars are 102 mg/dl (5.7 mmol/L) fasting. 98 mg/dl (5.4 mmol/L) after meals in 2 hours. Still taking 1000 mg metformin 2 times daily. I have a ketone blood meter. I entered ketosis at least 2x. @.8 milimolars. I will continue on my journey of weight loss and the pursuit of resolving diabetes.

I had trouble getting my mind straight the first week but have lost 7 pounds (3 kg) in the 2 weeks. Second week was better.
I substituted some meals that I didn’t like for other recipes on your site and this seemed to work for me.
I find there is so much information on your website (good) that I sometimes have trouble going back to something I found before (difficult) maybe will get easier the more I use it.
I plan to continue this forever, have already become a member. I am sure this will work for me. Please keep up the good work!
Dear Dr. Eenfeldt, My husband and I have completed the 2-week challenge together. Overall I was down 10 lbs (4.5 kg) and 10 inches (25 cm), my husband doesn’t believe in measuring but he feels and looks better. Bloat gone, and a general enhanced feeling of wellbeing. At first I found the high fat content a little difficult to ingest but as the week went on it became much easier.
We did make some minor adjustments, for example ground turkey for ground beef and I simply added a little more olive oil or butter. We are both in our 50’s and I honestly believe that this way of eating is more than a temporary fix and will be a way of eating for life. Not saying we will not fall face first in to a loaf of bread from time to time, however there are so many healthy adaptations that meet our cravings and fulfill our desire to stay on track.
The low-carb challenge was quite easy to follow. I never felt hungry and enjoyed eating lots of butter (!) that was always frowned upon in other diets.
I am 70 years of age, a ‘big girl’ since I can remember and my weight has been going up and down all my life. My most recent weight-loss was 25 kg (55 lbs) on a diet with no sugar, very little starch and no fat. Needless to say, once I reverted to ‘normal’ eating, the kilos just came back with a vengeance.
At my age I’m tired of planning meals 😕 and find it very helpful to have a menu and recipes that I can follow. It put some joy back in preparing meals. Some of the ingredients are not available in our villages here in the rural area where I live, like root celery and pastes like chipotle paste, but I just leave it out and still have a tasty dish.
As can be expected with my history and age my weight loss over the past 2 weeks hasn’t been astronomical – 1.3 kg (3 lbs) – and my middle shrunk by half a centimeter (0.2 inch). For the first time I have hope again of getting the weight down and keeping it that way, as so many of your clients testify.😉
So I signed up to become a member and am set and ready to continue on this path!

The diet worked and I felt full. I didn’t have a lot of weight to lose – I wanted to get off sugar. I don’t crave sugar as much any more, bit there was one day I did binge – but then I went back on.
The only part of the plan I felt was difficult was eggs everday. By the end of the first week I had had my fill of eggs, even though they did fill me up.
I think you have a very good plan – just hope my cholesterol is okay!
