  2. About 23 new videos at the launch of the membership, today. More are coming up soon. ;)

I am going to use this membership to keep me re enforced.
It will be an easy convenient way to check and get the support I need. Not everyone around me shares my lchf way of eating.
The information I get will help me to defend my choices.
  4. Noreen
Nancy - I agree, not everyone supports lchf. I have a brother whom vehemently argues that 'butter' is a killer and instead uses margarine thinking it is his salvation. I have been unable to convince him about the harm of margarine. Hence, change and success begins with one self.
I enjoy the lchf way of eating and find it very easy to incorporate into my own lifestyle.

The emphasis is on low carb, however, depending on who is talking it could be net or total. What is a fair estimate based on the science. When carbs are limited are we talking about net or total?
    thanks

  6. The carb amounts I discuss are non-fiber carbs.

I'm not a fan of the "net carb" concept as unscrupulous marketers sell all sorts of high-carb junk misusing that concept.

Thank-you for the site and great back-up evidence to LCHF. I once lost weight on the Atkins Diet when it came out so many years ago, even checking my urine with ketosticks. Evidence is much more prevalent now, as it has grown from studies over the years. I am just 3 days into LCHF, at age sixty, and already feeling positive results. As someone else stated, the info on the site is good for motivation and reinforcement of the facts as we venture forward. There has been and is so, so much out there about "low-fat", worry about cholesterol, and frequently hearing of friends and acquaintances getting "stints" these days, that it is very positive for one such as myself to have resources to turn to for reassurance as this adventure unfolds. I also see the logic of the history of man's diet to pre-industrialization to where it is today. I understand concepts regarding the "Paleo" and "Blueprint" "diets". Of course, "diet" is a HUGE catchword in the food industry. I will enjoy weight loss by the comfortable switch to LCHP lifestyle, and I appreciate that. However, and once again at age sixty, I look forward to daily feeling better, physically than my heretofore reckless eat-what-I-want-when-I-want manner of food intake. Namaste.

Would you explain more about necessary Fibre as part of LFHC. Obviously most good fibre comes from high carb foods such as lentils and legumes.
    Thanks Sue

    Hi,

I am a couple of months into LCHF and it has worked great for my diabetes. I always liked eating full fat and creamy things so this diet is like a win win for me. However, as I am watching more and more videos I find that experts are asking us to control protein intake as well. This has confused me a bit as in what food can I really eat-till-I-am-full if I cannot eat protein as much as I like. I completely understand that high protein diet causes glucose to get created from protein in our body and see why it is being asked to be controlled.

I was happily eating meat, bacon, eggs, fish, poultry mixed with butter and cheese but now I feel that I cannot eat meat, bacon, eggs, fish and poultry freely because they have large quantities of protein as well.

My question is, is something like chicken-breast fried in butter really LCHF? Can I eat it as much as I want to? If not, what should I eat if one portion of it does not fill me?

I am new to this actually fives days into it and I am lost as to how to add fat in my diet. What to fix to eat and how much protien to eat... please help

    Lomash.

I totally understand where you are coming from... I dont know how much either and if you limit your protien where do you get enough fat to fill you up... I like this way of life so for just a bit confused....

  16. Don't worry about the protein unless your weight loss stalls.

With regards to fat, my favourite sources are: butter, rib eye, pork, creme, cheese, avocado, olive oil, salmon, eggs, low-processed bacon and many others.

    Bjarte Bakke,

Thank you so much for your help,,, I am so afraid I am doing this wrong,,, I still have not stop drinking my diet pop though... How long have you been doing this life style? Do you eat three meals a day... I had breakfast about four hours ago and dont know when would be a good time to eat again.. I am starting to get hungry but dont know how much is to much... I am really scared to gain anymore weight,, I went through a rough last year and a half and gained almost 100 pds. I was sick and unable to get around. I used to walk four miles a day and ride my stationary bike. But then my health took a 180 and I am now on the road to recovery and want to shed all this extra weight.. So please dear Lord dont let me gain any more weight is my prayer... Can you offer any advise it would be much appreciated.... Thank you

  18. Donna, you are in good hands and you are on the right track. You will lose weight on low-carb and you will find it easy to do so! Mark my words.

    Two tips:
    1) Eat when you are hungry and until you feel satisfied. Don't worry about eating too much. The reason low-carb works is that it reduces insulin, and eating low carb foods full of fat are perfect for that!
In the beginning probably you will be hungry around 3 times a day. Then, the more adapted your body is to eating low-carb, the more in control of your hunger you will be. I, for example, only eat one massive meal each day (feels like a feast!) which is around 19:00 in the evening.

    2) See my reply to you "giving up foods" and the diet pepsi. You don't have to be so hard on yourself. This way of eating will lead to success. It's very likely that your body needs a few weeks to adapt and how long depends on the individual. When you are fully adapted you can expect steady weight-loss every week without hunger or exercise :) Yes, it will take time to lose all the weight, but that's OK. Just take one step after the other and remember: every journey starts with the first step.

Thanks Andreas - really grand website with all the relevant information. Started following Tim Noakes back in May 2014 and have lost 26 Kg's (still 21 Kg to go), but off all BP medication completely and Triglyceride right down. Have been on plateau for past 6 months, so have dropped dairy (except butter) and started a more vigorous exercise program and seem to have started losing fat again.

  20. William,

    Nice weight loss man!

To smash your plateau I'd consider intermittent fasting (eating less frequently).

  21. Tamarah
you must go all the way.. don't be sneaking sugar laden foods,, or the LCHF works just the opposite and you will gain,, I have had it happen. But Once I went FULL on LCHF,, I have lost 30 pds !! Just an FYI

Six weeks ago I was invited to commence injecting insulin. I was reluctant so my GP suggested LCHF and I agreed. Now I am frequently within range I am losing weight quite rapidly and feel a great deal better in every way. My GP had reservations about cholesterol but originally acceptable it is slightly reduced. I am astonished but highly gratified.

As a certified nutritional consultant (Bauman College), I can't recommend this site strongly enough. Each dietary plan is, of course, individual and one size doesn't fit all but...LCHF is a fantastic place for the majority of us to start. My sincere thanks to Dr.Eenfeldt for this comprehensive information source.

Is there a way to download these videos. I like watching them on the train.

  31. We don't support that.

If this is really important for you I would do some googling and try to find a software that can capture the video stream. But it's a bit tricky so it's not recommended to inexperienced computer users.

I received an e-mail saying there was a competition and that members could participate. But now I can't find it. I'm having trouble navigating this site sometimes. The competition should be in "NEW"
After I logged in it disappeared. I'll go back to the beginning and try again.

After lots of investigation and -10lbs; I'm onboard but I'm having a hard time finding enough good fat to cover 75%+ of diet.
Avocado, olive oil, butter, some almonds, fat off meat/bacon and ........?
Also as you know avos have some carbs. Do I simply digest olive oil from the bottle, eat slices of butter? How to get +75% ??
  35. Geraldine Denise
Veggies, leaves,(spinach, aragula, sprouts, Lettuce, cabbage, etc.etc.etc!) flax seeds , chia seeds, Nuts, coconuts, cocoa, psillium, loads of fiber in LCHF diet!

It would be so great to have a place that serve foods to fit this life style, I've been LFLC for over a month and while I am not hungry I do find it hard finding the delicious LCHF foods I don't know how to cook. I have great respect for those that are Chefs, Cooks and anyone that use this skill.

Is it me or is Dr Mosley getting in on the program? His blood sugar diet looks like LCHF to me.

I note that the transcription for Zoe Harcombe's talk posted on 18 August 2016 is the wrong one. Instead of the one for Harcombe's "How to Combat Coventional Dietary Advice," I find the transcript for Tim Noakes' talk "Why I Supported High Carb (SA 2015." Please, where do I find the correct transcription for Dr Harcombe's talk?

    Thank you,
