Instructions

Instructions are for 1 serving. Please modify as needed.

  1. Melt butter in a pan over low heat.
  2. Add eggs, cream, shredded cheese, and seasoning to a small bowl. Give it a light whisk and add to the pan.
  3. Stir with a spatula from the edge towards the center until the eggs are scrambled. If you prefer it soft and creamy, stir on lower heat until your preferred consistency is reached.
  4. Top with fresh basil.

Serving suggestion

Have your scrambled eggs with about 1–1½ oz (30–50 g) butter, a lot of fresh herbs, and ideally a few pieces of low carb sesame crispbread. Enjoy!

Hmm - no basil in the recipe for Scrambled Eggs with Basil. :)

I like to add dried basil to my eggs, tho sometimes I use oregano. If the latter, I serve it with salsa.

I like foods that can be obtained, ordered or prepared most places in the world.

Eggs is number one on my list

Beef lamb fish or chicken are available most places.

    Safe fats are butter

Even coconut oil can be adulterated so butter is safer in my opinion and experience
Beef tallow is as or more available in places like China

Looks delicious but I wonder how many carbs are in the crispbread. And where can I get some if they are truly low carb.

    Bernard,

    It's a sesame-seed crispbread:

I can see only three kinds of berries that are used to make delicious breakfasts . Are there any others ?

Oh my. This was the best scrambled eggs that I've ever eaten. I used heavy cream instead of coconut cream, and it was still amazing. Will try it again with coconut milk later.

It's optional, so you can use as little or as much as you like. Generally around 1/4 cup will work.

There is no mention of when/where to add the basil in the Instructions.

The basil leaves are uncooked and bright green and look great as a garnish. They also taste nice, have a good strong flavour and probably do me good! I wouldn't restrict myself to two of them.

Your intro states, "A clever, simple yet elegant version of a keto breakfast classic—scrambled eggs with cream cheese, fresh herbs and butter!" Where's the cream cheese?

Recipe says cream, cheese, no cream cheese mentioned.

FABULOUS. I didnt have cream so used 2 spoons of sourcream dip (with onion) and also some ham and instead of 1/3 cup cheese i used less than 1/4 cup of mixed parmesan and strong cheddar and topped with lots of fresh basil, it was sensational .oh and i dont actually like eggs.

I hate scrambled eggs. Never liked them. Gave this a try (I had a migraine and needed omega 3s); I ate the whole thing. Thank you! Going to keep this in my roster!
