Here’s what our members have said about the interview:

I really enjoyed and learned a lot from this new interview with Dr. Westman. Definitely worth a second and third listen. Information introduced by Dr. Westman beginning at 38:37 minutes was of particular interest for me: “If someone is in ketosis and then they eat one meal of carbohydrate it can stop the ketosis in some people up to three weeks. So again it just goes back to the notion that a very small amount may be very damaging in terms of the weight loss and ketosis.” “This is the worst case [for insulin resistant people].”
I’m very insulin resistant. I’ve had similar experiences though I don’t have a way of knowing how long I’m out of ketosis because I don’t measure my ketones.
Dr. Eenfeldt, who is not insulin resistant, gave an example of a cheat weekend with friends followed by his ketosis stopping for three or four days.
I always learn something new when listening to Dr. Westman. I appreciate his willingness to state what we do and don’t know based on science but also hearing his clinical experiences and opinions based on his work with obese and/or insulin resistant patients. I find both equally valuable.

What a great interview with Dr. Westman!
It validates what I speculated to myself the problem was.
I had just started losing weight again when I discovered “bullet-proof coffee.” Instantly (within 1 week) I gained 3 pounds!
Another great tip (that I had noticed and am now validated) is that I need to wait 15 – 20 min. before I get a true reading on how hungry I actually am.
Dr. Eenfeldt, thank you so much! I have a doctor’s appointment coming up next week and had worked myself into such a “funk” that I was going to be heavier than my last visit. Now I have renewed self-confidence and believe I know how to continue.
