We invite you to join us in this defining struggle for the future. There’s a great conflict in the world, and it will determine our destiny and the lives of the people we love.

Quick facts about Diet Doctor

A broken world

Something is badly wrong. While the prosperity of the world has never been higher, people are suffering. More and more people – the majority in the Western world – are obese or overweight, and a high percentage of them on prescription drugs every day for the rest of their lives.

Every year more people are added to the sad statistics. As we get increasingly richer as a society, our health appears to be declining. Why is this?

People feel guilt and shame, as if the excess weight, hunger and tiredness were their fault, a moral failing. They count their calories and attempt to eat less food and exercise more, but it’s not working. If only they had more willpower.

Diabetes type 2 – a new epidemic in the history of humankind – will soon impact 500 million people. The death toll will be enormous, as will the armies of people suffering the consequences: blindness, dementia, heart disease, cancer. This new disease is considered incurable, and the treatment is daily drugs to reduce the symptoms. There is no cure, experts say.

Obesity – another new epidemic that will soon include half the population – is considered almost as incurable. The only effective treatment is said to be bariatric surgery, i.e. surgically removing parts of healthy organs. This operation carries a significant risk of life-long misery and sometimes even death. And a year after surgery, the excess weight usually starts returning.

And even worse, epidemics of obesity and diabetes are just the tip of the iceberg. As these problems spread across the world, other diseases follow closely behind: heart disease, cancer, eating disorders and food addiction, high blood pressure, ADHD, depression and on and on.

Experts still trumpet eating less and exercising more to slow down the epidemics, and they have been advising this for 30 years as the problems have exploded. These recommendations are not working.

It may be even worse. The problem really started to get bad in the early 80s, just when we were told to eat “healthily”, just when the first Dietary Guidelines for Americans were released, and then copied around the world. That’s when the epidemic started.

Possibilities and what’s holding us back

Something is very wrong in the world today. Our bodies are made to stay healthy throughout our lives and supply us with the energy to reach our goals and our potential. We can absolutely return to this natural state. With the resources the world has today there should be no stopping us.

This is not about a lack of willpower. You already have all the willpower you’ll ever need.

Imagine a world where everyone can feel good in his or her body again, where all the children can run and play without having to stop and catch their breath every few steps, where there’s no need for mass pill popping, a nation no longer on drugs, where nobody is obsessively counting calories to starve himself. Where health is normal again. Where we can reach our potential and care for each other. Where we use our willpower for higher purposes, together shaping a better world for our children.

Much of what we need to get there is already known. But it’s not that simple. The food industry profits from selling cheap, low-fat, highly processed, nutritionally depleted and addictive food. And we’re advised to eat at least every three hours. The pharmaceutical industry profits by selling daily medications to temporarily reduce the symptoms of all the diseases caused by the food.

Junk-to-Drugs

These are trillion dollar industries. There’s a lot of money to be made keeping you sick.

The truth is obscured by corporate propaganda, companies selling junk food and pills while using lies and misinformation for the benefit of their shareholders but to the detriment of humanity. It’s obscured by government ineptitude, allowing corporations to rule via armies of highly-paid lobbyists, while relying on old experts who are often stuck in failed preconceptions, unable to update their thinking. That is, if the experts are not simply funded by corporations too.

Just as an example, it was recently exposed how Coca-Cola spends tens of millions of dollars buying the loyalty of government health experts and scientists as well as high-profile bloggers and personal trainers. To not mention the dangers of drinking sugar. To keep quiet about it. That’s the reality behind their slogan about “open happiness” and billions of dollars of feel-good advertising. How are obesity, disease and lies the road to happiness?

It may seem impossible to change this. What can one person do? Not much. But together, using modern tools… if we have the will, we can change anything.

Towards the solution

What would you do if there was a clear way to make the world a better place?

diamond3
Most of the truth we need is already out there, it is already known, many are already using it with fantastic results. What’s needed is to find this truth and make it as simple as possible to use. To empower people everywhere to revolutionize their health.

This can’t be achieved by using old thinking. We’ll have to question everything. And it can’t be achieved by selling a magic product, a pill or a packaged food product or by financing from the corporations that are profiting from the status quo. That’s the thinking that got us into this mess.

Here at Diet Doctor we want to be a part of the solution. That’s why we’ve decided to take no money from industry. We sell no food, no supplements, no other products and we have no ads.

Instead, we’re fully funded by the people, via an optional membership (free trial available).

We give away for free to the world everything that is necessary, even if someone does not sign up for a membership. We’re focusing on free simple guides, recipes and step-by-step plans, providing everything you need to lose weight without hunger or to cure diabetes type 2.

Welcome to Diet Doctor. Let us tell you more about reality and some of the misconceptions that stop people from achieving health and happiness.

The solution

The solution to the obesity and diabetes epidemics already exists. It’s very simple:

LCHF Food

That’s basically it. Although there are additional details, if you want to lose weight effortlessly or to reduce your diabetes you should probably make a special effort to drastically reduce the carbohydrates, especially sugar and processed starch (like flour) that you consume.

Natural fat, like butter? Eating that is fine. Red meat? That’s fine too. Calories? That’s just another – bizarre – name for food. Eating real food is perfectly fine, as long as you are hungry. Counting calories and ignoring your hunger is an eating disorder.

Exercise? That’s great for your health and well-being, but it’s never going to make you thin. You cannot outrun a bad diet.

There’s only one long-term solution that is truly effective. Eat real food, when you are hungry.

Why change is so slow

So if the problem is so huge, and the solution already exists – why is the problem not solved already?

TIME: Eat ButterBecause of inertia, old dogma and vested interests. Primarily it’s just hard for us humans to change our minds. It takes time.

The mistaken fear of natural fat is still just alive, like some half-dead zombie – even though modern science has thoroughly disproven it. TIME magazine even put this fact on its cover in 2014. Fearing natural fat leads to even more high-carb, high-sugar junk food – so it’s been a really bad idea.

There is also massive money to be made from the status quo. The entire food and pharmaceutical industries depend on it, and they employ armies of lobbyists and even researchers.

The food industry wants to divert the blame from their bad food (the real problem) to their consumers. That is why they they to keep the focus on calorie counting, “personal responsibility” and exercise.

The pharmaceutical industry does not want people to get well. It’s easy to understand why. That would put them out of business.

The government would love to improve the health of the people, but official agencies move slowly and are easy prey for professional lobbyists and influencers. Just look at Michelle Obama’s sadly failed “Let’s Move” campaign. As soon as the junk-food industry got involved, everything turned into empty pep talk, with no real change that anybody truly believes in.

Bringing the solution to the people

Paulos Hughes
As no solution is coming from the top, it can only come from the bottom, from people like you and me. And it will, because nothing is so powerful as an idea whose time has come.

The Diet Doctor organization wants to speed this process up, and we have a plan to do exactly that. We want to make it very simple for you to understand and get inspired to revolutionize your health. After that, we want you to help other people – your friends, family, etc. – to revolutionize their health.

Then this good cycle can repeat and multiply.

Use the menu at the top of the page to find our best guides. And remember to sign up for our free weekly newsletter. If you do it now, you also get access to a free video course on eating a low-carb, high-fat diet.

    Hello

Following the Keto low carb its wonderful.

The new menus i.e 15 to 20 carbs a day, I am not 100% sure can you clarify, is this the carbs
ONLY for the one meal shown on the picture?

On top one has to ADD carbs they eat for breakfast, and dinner evening ON TOP?

Bascially, is the picture shown with food on plate 15-20 carbs per plate?

    Look forward to help.

    Kind regards
    from Mallorca

    Hi Diet Doctor!

Just wanted to point out a flaw in the layout and design of the recipe pages. When you select a category (such as side dishes) the MORE button should be on the bottom right. Currently, its backwards. The MORE is on the bottom left and the PREVIOUS is on the bottom right. It’s a little confusing... at least for the US audience.

    Thanks.

Might I make a comment/suggestion (can't find a suggestion box on the site). In the member's area, I'd like to recommend a public nested blog (similar to facebook) where we can start subjects and participate in helping each other. Of course, then also we'd need a search box for that blog area. It would make it much easier to participate in various subjects.

LOVE IT! So excited. I'm trying to not be annoying to my friends & family! But eeeek, I can barely keep quiet! One suggestion...the website doesn't work too well on android phone. On my laptop it's working well though! I tried 4 recipes just today!

I've been making these wonderful fat bombs that I found on line. Got any idea how to figure the macros? They didn't say.

Why when I import the meals into MyFitnessPal are the macros not the same. It seems to show higher carbs in the MyFitnessPal app then what is shown on the nutrition for the recipes on this website. Thoughts?

    Hello,

Have someone somewhere tested carbalose flour made by Tova Industries (used in Carbquick for example) ? Because they claim carbalose can be used like normal wheat flour, but that they have removed from wheat flour most non-fiber carbohydrates, and have reduced the Net Carb count by as much as 90%. I would very much like an independant test to confirm their claims... Maybe someone at DietDoctor ? Thanks. http://www.tovaindustries.com/carbalose/faq.html

I enjoy the newsletter a lot. The articles look so interesting, but when I click on the link it says log in to read more. I have trouble finding the article I was reading. For example today's newsletter showed a post by K Sullivan, and I wanted to respond to it, but I'm having trouble finding it now that I'm logged in.

When printing out the recipes, it doesn't include the "TIP" comments. I hope that you can change that, please.

Also, another suggestion, when changing the SERVINGS to, for example, 2 servings, it adds the comment: "Instructions are for 1 serving. Please modify as needed." I believe this should be on the page BEFORE changing the SERVINGS amount. Otherwise, it may cause some confusion later on.

Thanks for your site and all the wonderful recipes. In my first 2 1/2 weeks, I lost 13 lbs! I'm really excited about continuing on this new lifestyle.

    Dear Dr.
This is Lynda from Uganda. I bought your sugar from the bridal expo, unfortunately, I didn't take their contacts. I commend you for your sugar has done wonders coz by the time I started taking it I was 74kg but am now 69kg, implying I have 5kg in 2 months.

Qn: Where can I find it in Uganda?

    Thx

    Dear Diet Doctor

Out of a morbid interest in current 'mainstream' dietary advice, I read the occasional 'women's' magazine. As you'll know their 'expert' advice is all over the place, contradictory but mostly still pushing LFHC and there's always a baking section. Most people I know in real life seem to be addicted to cake, biscuits and watching baking shows on TV.

Yesterday, my eye was caught by one of the most blatant anti LCHF pieces I've seen yet and I just had to share it with you:

In the latest edition (October) of the very popular Woman and Home (W&H) magazine, under the heading '8 diet secrets for a healthy life', No 5 is 'Ditch the low-carb diets'. (It's nice that they appear to think we're all doing low-carb, anyway - none of them live round here, anyway!)

On the advice of the Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition, we are advised that 'half our calories should come from 'carbs''. I looked this august body up. It will be no surprise to you to see who they are: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/...

The piece also quotes Azmina Govindjii from the British Dietetic Association (BDA), who's also pushing whole grains and a low-fat diet. According to her website, http://www.azminanutrition.com/, she's 'an independent award-winning nutritionist, registered dietitian, best-selling author and mum. Azmina bridges the communications gap between consumer and the food industry by engaging the target audience, and translating scientific evidence into language consumers can understand.' (she's doing a good job, there!)

And the BDA? Look at https://www.bda.uk.com/about/workwithus/currentcorpmembers. Among other things they are pushing: https://www.bda.uk.com/foodfacts/HealthyEating.pdf

Thanks for all you do. I would think I was losing the plot if it wasn't for you and the other pioneers of LCHF!

Best wishes, Miriam Walton, High Peak, Derbyshire, UK

Can you please add a way to disable the pictures of the food when printing recipes.

It takes up a lot of page space, needlessly pushing instructions and ingredients onto a second page and wasting ink printing the images.

Also being able to add recipes to the shopping list but not the print them out for when your redoing recipes would be nice to have.

When the grocery list comes up, before printing, is there a way to delete the items you already have?
  34. Donna Wasman
I just can't believe how exciting this program is. I joined for the 30 day trial, put together the items I needed for an initial grogery list and actually started the meals yesterday. Oh my goodness! First off....I am not a cook. My husband has cooked for us almost our whole married time together...try 45 years. I made breakfast, lunch and dinner yesterday and they were delicious, absolutely delicious. Heres the best news ever. I had those wonderful meals and didn't find myself hungry between meals at all. Usually I am an all day snacker. I never felt the urge to snack...not once yesterday. Now tomorrow when I go back to work and the snack machine calls to me....that will be the ultimate test. Anyway just wanted to share my joy...oh and I was down 2 pounds when I weighed in this morning.
  35. Peter
I like the program. I had some good early results, but then plateaued. But I figure I am in for the long haul, so no worries.

Is there anyway we can get the shopping list sent to our phones instead of printing them out? It is nice to figure out the meal plan options on the computer. I think it would be hard on the phone. The ability to send the shopping list and the weekly recipes to my phone for shopping and cooking would be great.

    Thanks, Peter

Thank you, dietdoctor! You CAN be successful with keto. I am a walking success story! I've lost 20.4 lbs so far in ~3 months (since 6/18/17) and am 10 lbs away from my goal weight. The first 2 weeks are rough - I'm not gonna lie. But once you realize that a) you feel GREAT, b) it's working! and c) your cravings ARE diminishing - you'll want to stick with it. I haven't cheated (except for the occasional glass of wine, but I log 'em all!) and really don't have sugar or carb cravings anymore. I was diagnosed with IBS prior to my starting keto - that's gone completely. NO digestive issues/symptoms whatsoever. And I have plenty of energy to navigate my day.

One thing dietdoctor could add to its list of advice for those of us who plateau: MACROS. I lost ~10lbs initially (mostly water-weight, I assume), and then I plateaued after about a month and was SO frustrated. I looked up what I could do and tried it all (eggs, fasting, avoiding certain foods; eating only when hungry, etc.) until I finally succumbed to the macros. And now I get it. There's an app for that (of course - LOTS of 'em). I use MyMacros+ (https://getmymacros.com/). It's free. And it's priceless. I log what I eat, and track my weight. It calculates everything for me. This KILLED my plateau and is keeping me on track. I lost 6 lbs and then, since I was down 16 lbs, I readjusted the macros to lose from there, and I'm still losing. And once I'm down to my goal weight, I'll continue to use it to "maintain" instead of "lose". I am SO beyond excited. If you plateau - follow all the other advice, yes. But do not neglect your macros. They will save your diet.

Hi..my family, that owns a small bakery, started to speriment in the 80's and to bake bread and other products low in carbs.the original mission was to make a low carb approach a little bit easier especially considering how difficult is for an Italian individual to renounce at our traditional food like pasta.bread, pizza and cakes.
After so many years thanks to the help of prominent expert and nutritionists we are able to make nowadays bread and other products that have less than 10% in carbs and good in taste.
For our family it has been a long and hard trip so hinting, like this web page does, that all low carbs products are frauds is pretty offending.

I find the site to be a good thing and I don't want to cancel membership. If problem isn't fixed I can longer use it.
