The low-carb challenge was a great way to begin my LCHF life!
I have lost 8 lbs (3.5 kg) and 1 inch (2.5 cm) in two weeks. I used the menus and shopping lists as guidelines to get me started. I don’t feel hungry between meal and don’t miss sweets. I feel like I have more energy. I have learned a lot about how to add fat to my diet and eliminate to reduce carbs.
I did a little adapting of the challenge to fit the needs of one person. I could not always eat so much food. I sometimes skip breakfast and wait till I was hungry around 11 am. I would either start the day with eggs or if I was hungrier, add in some of my leftover dinner from the night before or other perishable ingredients I had purchased for previous menus.
I never really felt like I got the “flu” symptoms, but enjoyed a warm cup of broth some mornings.
I will continue with my low carb diet, using the foods recommended on dietdoctor.com.
Hi AndreasHaving done a low-sugar programme last year, and losing weight for the first time, going on to a keto programme was relatively easy. I didn’t suffer any side-effects and really enjoyed eating the way I’ve always wanted to eat. I love the fact that I don’t feel hungry, and can go 12+ hrs without eating.
Over the years, I gained weight, however, in the past few years, it’s been moving to my middle, with my body shape changing from a pear to an apple. This led to the low-sugar last year. I lost 7kgs (15 lbs), but then couldn’t shift more. I now know it was because I increased my carb intake above 20 g.
I started the challenge 2 weeks ago, but only followed the eating plan for 10 days as I was away from home for business. I was able to stay in ketosis despite being away from home because I knew to just avoid anything obviously carb. Very chuffed to have lost 2 kg (5 lbs) in weight and 6 cm around my waist.
I really appreciate the resources which are available to educate myself, and am becoming a real bore telling everybody to cut down on carbs ;-)
Hello. My husband (72) and I (67) reside in Florida, USA. We chose to do the 2-week challenge, liked it and have decided to continue. We did the challenge because we are both struggling to lose weight and to bring our high cholesterol down. We both lost approx 7 lbs (3 kg) each during this time. We are enjoying eating good food and staying full until the next time we eat. We have yet to have more energy, but are optimistic and consider it perhaps premature.
I found the videos very informative and the menus and recipes very helpful. The daily emails were good to keep me on track. We are excited to keep going with the program as we are feeling good, staying full, and losing weight in the process. We can’t wait to get our blood retested for cholesterol in a couple of months, as we expect a drop in the numbers. Thanks for all you do.

I am so grateful I found this way of eating. I lost 8 pounds (3.5 kg) in two weeks. Losing weight is not the best thing that has happened. I’m listing below some of my problems that have improved considerably — in two weeks. This is a blessing from God.

I was eating foods that were wrong for me and shunning the good foods. That is, I was eating low fat and high carbs. My former diet plan said to eat all the fruit I wanted. The more fruit I ate, the worse I felt. I was taking a boatload of medicine and still had difficulty rising and walking. Before I started with you, I had to use a cane. Only 2 weeks ago. All my friends eat the wrong way too. We are all past 70 and we all have multiple symptoms, especially arthritis. I know three younger people on this diet. All are successful and feeling better.
The carbs were apparently poisonous to me. My joints hurt because I had no lubricant in them. I read the explanations for the others ailments.
My husband and I took the 2-week challenge and we love it so much, we have become members!!! I am 54, my husband is 49 and we reside in Clearwater, Florida. We both thoroughly enjoyed the meals, concept, and weight loss. I can’t say how much we have lost, however, I can tell you that we both agree, our clothes are fitting better than they were before the challenge.There is nothing bad to say about this process. The meals are delicious and we aren’t hungry, at ALL! We don’t think of this as a “diet”, but more of a new lifestyle. My sugar was on the borderline of diabetes and I feel that by removing the sugar, starches//carbs, my next visit to the doctor will give a better outcome! I am thankful to have stumbled upon this challenge and look forward to seeing what’s ahead. For anyone apprehensive about trying it, I say this, you have NOTHING TO LOSE but weight!! Give it a whirl! You will be pleasantly surprised how great this truly is!
