The Zone Diet plan is a type of diet that was developed at Boston University’ School of Medicine along with the Institute of Technology in Massachusetts by Dr. Barry Sears. What the south beach zone diet is all about is diet tips and zone recipes and vegetarian zone recipes that focus on the ideal state of the mind and the body as well. This is described as being a state of mind where the body always feels refreshed as well as at its peak performance and peak level of energy as well. The “zone diet” term was borrowed from the “zone peak of performance” which is described by athletes when they achieve the optimal degree of athletic performance for their bodies.

The zone diet plan and its numerous alternatives were created by a man named Dr. Barry Sears, who at the time was a researcher working for the Boston University in the School of Medicine in conjunction with the Institute of Technology is Massachusetts. The south beach zone diet and many of the zone recipes associated with the diet came as a result of Dr. Sears’ study of lipids and their specific role in the development of disease within the body. After his father passed away due to a heart attack in 1970, the zone diet plan was conceptualized, but the concept continued to be rather raw until 1982, when he was able to receive a research grant so that he may study the relationship between disease development and a specific type of hormone known as eicosanoids.
His book, “Enter the zone” was compiled and published after his research was completed in 1995. It immediately became an international best seller because of the diet tips , shopping tips and other vital information that it contained within. The book was so successful upon its release, selling more than four million copies all over the world, that Dr. Barry Sears went on to publish a total of ten more books about the same subject over time.
The zone diet is an effective diet plan that incorporates zone recipes with diet tips, diet reviews , shopping tips and other vital information, allowing people to significantly lose weight. Although some people have had trouble losing weight with other diet plans, they have found the zone diet plan to be extremely effective in helping to lose approximately 1.5 lbs every week. The zone diet may have been heavily criticized over the past decade or so, but it is still quite effective when it comes to helping people reduce their weight healthfully and naturally.
The zone diet plan encourages consuming grilled meat, vegetables and fruits. People who are going through the zone diet plan may follow zone diet recipes that promote 2/3 fruits and vegetables to 1/3 meat. This is a diet plan that consists primarily of 40 percent carbohydrates, 30 percent protein and 30 percent fat, with primarily monounsaturated fats such as those found in nuts, guacamole and avocado.
